According to estimates, the Trump administration decision itself to withdraw foreign support and dismantling the American International Development Agency will probably cause huge human suffering. Among them:
-
up to 18 million additional cases of malaria per year and as much as 166,000 additional deaths;
-
200,000 children paralyzed per year and hundreds of millions of infections;
-
A million children not treated because of severe acute malnutrition, which is often fatal each year;
-
Every year, over 28,000 modern cases of such infectious diseases as Ebola and Marburg.
These Stark forecasts were specified in the series of notes of Nicholas Ewre, a full assistant of the Global Health Administrator at USAID, which was obtained by the Modern York Times. Mr. Enrich was placed on administrative leave on Sunday.
In one note he blamed these potential health crises for “political leadership in USAID, the Department of State and the Doge who created and continued to create intentional and/or unintentional obstacles that completely prevent the implementation of” support programs.
These leaders blocked payment systems, created modern and ineffective payment processes, and constantly sliding guidelines for which actions qualify as “saving life”, wrote Enrich.
Another note describes the cutting of the agency’s global workforce from 783 on January 20 to less than 70 on Sunday.
In an interview, Mr. Enrich said that he had issued notes on Sunday afternoon, after E -Mail came on vacation to set the record straight to patching USAID staff and the end of thousands of subsidies saving life.
Describing a series of events behind the scenes, he hoped that “it would be clear that we never really had the opportunity to implement humanitarian life.”
Officials of the State Department did not immediately respond to the request for comment.
In January, Trump’s administration froze funds intended for foreign support. On January 28, the Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a transient release for humanitarian rescue support.
But in fact very little money was provided, basically compression support programs around the world and forcing hundreds of organizations to Furlough or Guardians.
Despite this, Bureau for Global Health Stanes tried to remain optimists and “do everything in our power” to implement release, said Mr. Enrich.
But on Wednesday, Trump’s administration suddenly completed about 5,800 projects financed by USAID, including many that received exemptions.
“In the end it was clear that we would not be implemented under this release,” said Enrich.
“I needed for myself and all employees who poured their hearts to this – we needed entries to show what had happened,” he said.
Mr. Enrich said he hoped to compile one more note, showing how he and others gave the risk of disturbing key programs for Marek Lloyd and Tim Meisburger, political denominators at the agency. He said, however, that they repeatedly asked for more details about the justification of the programs.
“It is obvious that Trump’s administration is well aware that it violates court orders and does not provide support -saving life, which claimed that he finances himself due to waiver,” said Matthew Kavanagh, director of Georgetown University University for Global Health Health Policy and Politics.
“Unless it is reversed, it will cost millions of human lives by government accounting,” added Dr. Kavanagh.
According to Mr. Erich, other destructive effects may include uncontrolled MPOX and bird flukes, including so many 105 million cases in the United States themselves, the growing mortality of mother and children in 48 countries and a 30 % escalate in drug-resistant tuberculosis.
Disruption of tuberculosis programs abroad will cause that more patients arrive in the United States, warned Mr. Enrich’s note. Treatment of one patient with many years of tuberculosis costs over USD 154,000 in the United States.
(It is said that Trump’s administration is preparing plans to reverse migrants due to the fact that they can introduce tuberculosis to the country).
Notes are also noted by the disturbance of the efforts containing Ebola in Uganda.
A single Ebola patient in Modern York in 2014 cost the city of health in the city USD 4.3 million in response. The explosion in Uganda seemed to come, but the 4-year-old boy died earlier this week, which indicates that the virus is still circulating.
The consequences can go beyond human health, influencing American companies – including agriculture – and family by increasing healthcare costs, international trade disruption and burdening national resources.
Mother and children’s health programs as well as nutrition can stabilize the economy and political climate in other countries, notes notes.
“Article 1 of the Constitution gives the Congress the right to create or remove the agency and authorize expenses, not the president,” said Dr. Kavanagh.
By breaking the USAID and ending his programs, Trump’s administration not only “risks the death of the millions of the most marginalized worldwide, but also cause constitutional crisis in the service of cruelty,” added Dr. Kavanagh.
