Common anatomical variability is born with over ten fingers or more than ten fingers.
Former actor Doctor Who David Tennant this week confirmed He has 11 fingers at the feet. He says he was born with an additional finger on the right foot, which means he is polydactically.
Here’s how this anatomical variability occurs and how common it really is.
Let’s start in the uterus
The term polydactically comes from the Greek poly (significant many) and date (referring to the fingers, fingers or numbers). To understand this, we must start with how the embryo develops in the uterus.

What about fingers and fingers?
