We have already discussed the way we planned the event from beginning to end and how we promoted the event. This time it’s about how our events can be better next time.
Like any good event organizer, we sent surveys after the event to find out how we can improve the experience of our future conferences.
In total, we sent three surveys after the incident, addressed to various interested parties: participants, employees and sponsors.
Our events can always be improved. The best way to find out what requires improvement and how to improve is to ask people who took part in your event.
These are the survey questions that we sent to the participants of Ahrefs Evolve 2024.

- General experience: How would you rate your overall experience at the conference?
- Organization of events: How were you satisfied with the organization of the event (communication, registration, logistics, etc.)?
- Content and speakers: Which 5 speakers do you consider the most valuable or addictive?
- How would you assess the quality of presentations and speakers?
- How do you assess the possibilities of making contacts during the event?

Our team was both part of the preparation of the event and present as participants of the days themselves. So we also wanted internal feedback on how to better do.
These are the questions we sent.

- Preliminary event: For people involved in the project, it would be helpful if you could share feedback on how we can improve preparations before the event, including all observations about the time axis, communication or other logistics aspects.
- Event day (workshop October 21-23): Your experience as a participant/team that supported this event, noticing what worked well and what can be improved.

- Conference Day (October 24-25): Please share your experience as a participant or member of a team who supported this event, noticing what worked well and what can be improved. Other areas to be considered: format / content and structure / participants commitment / brand / swag / logistics – Food place
- After the party! (October 25): Please share your experience as a participant, noticing what worked well and what can be improved.
- Evolve 2025 plans: All up-to-date ideas for Evolve 2025, including potential locations
- Is there anything else?
These are questions that we sent to companies that sponsored our conference. We wanted to make sure that they had valuable experience and may even consider sponsorship again at the next event.

- How was the crowd in your stand?
- Have you managed to combine with potential potential customers?
- Any suggestions about future events?
- Do you have any positive opinions about this event?
- In what areas can we improve?
- Any other suggestions that will lend a hand us improve Evolve 2025?
- Would you be able to give us a reference or quote? We would like to present you in our marketing materials.
Conducting a survey is pointless without looking at the results and determining what to improve.
In our case, we averaged the results for questions based on a 5-point scale. We also conducted a summary after the events and discussed the quality feedback we received.

All this will wish Evolve 2025 planning and organization (and outside it).
Why would you send a survey after the event?
Your events can always improve. The best way to find out what and how to improve is to ask people who took part in your event.
However, it is impractical to ask everyone personally for opinions (unless it is a petite event). So the survey is the best tool to discover what has worked, which is not and what you can improve next time.
When should you send a survey after the event?
You would like to send a survey when the event is still fresh in the minds of everyone. For us, we sent surveys as soon as the event was completed.
How to conduct a survey after the event?
Don’t think about it. You only need:
- Contact details of your participantswhich you should have if you utilize event management software to lend a hand you buy tickets and register.
- Survey tool. If the software of the events you utilize allows for surveys and surveys, consider using it. Otherwise, Google forms work (which we used.)
What types of survey questions should be made for events?
We used for our research:
- Likert scale questions This is a meter satisfaction on a scale (e.g. 1 to 5)
- Demographic questions To understand our audience
- Multiple choice questions To allow our respondents to choose by choice
- Open questions That participants would inform us in detail what they liked, they did not like or what we can improve
- Questions about the result of the net promoter (NPS) To see how likely Ahrefs will evolve
